Voluntary national review on the Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract
This review is the result of Brazil’s first systematic effort to evaluate the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It is also an exercise of accountability, first and foremost before the Brazilian society, as regards our Government’s measures towards a more prosperous and fair Country, with opportunities for all - including for future generations.
In implementing the Sustainable Development Goals, we respond faithfully to this spirit of listening and building together. In order to materialize the 2030 Agenda, the Brazilian government has adopted a participatory model, which benefits from contributions from the municipal, state and federal levels, as well as from varied
social segments. Given the comprehensive and multidisciplinary nature of the 2030 Agenda, it could not be any different.
This document also comprises an assessment of the challenges we still face in our struggle to eradicate poverty. It is, therefore, a working tool for all those dedicated to the cause of the 2030 Agenda.
