Abstract
The document represents a declaration issued by the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The statement classified violence against women and girls within the most serious forms of violation of human rights, and it is a phenomenon a reason and a result of the lack of equality between the sexe.
The text of the declaration considered the complexity of the phenomenon of gender-based violence makes it difficult to solve, but it remains a combination of measures and strengthen strategies and interventions as well as coordination between the various parties involved (governments and individuals) and to identify practices and attitudes to be changed on the institutional level, that will help to reduce the phenomenon violence against women and girls.
In the conclusion, the statement notes the priority issue of the elimination of violence against women among political leaders, and to the receipt of this issue -also- into the sustainable development agenda for the year 2030.
