STATEMENT: Locked Up and Forgotten, Women in Detention in Conflict-stricken Areas
Abstract
This document represents a statement by the Euro-Mediterranean Human rights, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which concerns violations against detained Palestinian and Syrian women.
The statement highlights the inhuman conditions of detention faced by the Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails and the inhuman and miserable situations for Syrian hostages in secret detention centers.
The statement calls, in conclusion, the international community to take a number of measures aimed at accounting the assaulters and observation of detention condition and treatment of these conditions and circumstances.
