Working with Gender Based Violence Survivors : Reference Training Manual for Frontline Staff

Abstract
The Document represents a reference guide issued by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), it is prompt for workers and workers on the front lines. This guide aims to promote and disseminate knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed in order to reduce the gender-based violence, by enhancing the skills of the Social Counsellor, the Educators and of the Health Care Providers. The guide provides, in part, a conceptual framework for the gender-based violence, with the identification of the wider context - for this type of violence- and its reasons. The other part of the document present methods and mechanisms to intervene in this kind of violence, also defines the skills that must be acquired by the interveners (counselors, educators, providers of health care).
