Abstract
The African Gender and Development Index (AGDI) is a tool developed by the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) that maps the extent of gender inequality in Africa and assesses government performance. It consists of two parts. the quantitative Gender Index (GSI) and the qualitative African Women's Progress Scoreboard (AWPS)
