This publication presents the following key components of the CAWTAR programme, Gender Equality in the 2030Agenda for Sustainable Development:

1. Preparing the Seventh Arab Women Development Report 2019, Gender equality in the 2030 Agenda: the role of civil society and the media
2. Preparing a practical guide containing case studies from the Arab region, “Field Initiatives”, conducted by civil society organisations and the media on SDGs in the Agenda 2030
3. Implementing a capacity-building programme for civil society organisations and media professionals (in joint session) from members of the Arab Network for Gender and Development and Gender (ANGAD) on gender in Sustainable Development Goals 2030: the role of civil society and the media.

In addition, a media competition was launched on “Development Agenda 2030 and Gender: Challenges in the Arab Region”, and calls on both researchers and interested young people to submit scientific papers and case studies with a focus on gender and development (6), which is a major subject in CAWTAR’s programme, and includes its publications and partners’ publications in the Arab region and elsewhere.
