This book is a companion to the AWDR on “Arab Adolescent Girl : Reality and Perspectives”.

It reflects the attitudes, ideas, perceptions, hopes and expectations of about 200 adolescent girls and boys from seven Arab Countries.

The book also contains a detailed account of the life of an adolescent girl and boy from each of the seven countries.

Rainbow is the voice of adolescent girls and boys as they protest, laugh, cry, reveal and hide, deny some facts, spring, cross and think of the future, carry a life project in their minds and perceptions, classify their mutual bonds and their relations with their narrow and wide environments.

The book received support from the World Bank, the European Union, The United Nations Population Fund, the United Nations Development Program, AGFUND, UNICEF and UNIFEM.
