This mapping is made for the benefit of researchers abroad, who want to learn about Gender Studies in the Nordic countries, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden on the theme of women/gender in public life.

Most of the research literature especially from the first decades of Nordic Women’s Studies/Gender Studies - was published in the native languages, and is therefore not included here.

But with the development of Gender Studies an increasing number of publications would appear in English.
