This publication is the outcome of a study; conducted in Tunisia, Jordan, Yemen and UAE, on the image of Arab women in mass media, on their status as media professionals, and on the degree of their participation in that field.

The study provides an analysis and evaluation of women’s image and role in the media and proposes recommendations to improve this image and to foster women’s role as active social agents;

This research work aims to help formulate gender-based policies and strategies in the areas of media and information base (studies, research, publications) on women and Media; and to utilize the study findings in the design of training packages targeted toward media staff and associations.
