2016 annual reporting Somalia-FGM
Abstract
This document presents the annual reporting of the UNFPA-UNICEF joint programme on Female genital mutilation / cutting-Accelerating Change in Somalia for the period 1 january-31 December 2016. This report contains the background on joint programme efforts in country, strategic approach to the acceleration of FGM/C elimination in country, progress from 1 January to 31 December 2016 bay work plan output, partnerships and knowledge exchange at national and decentralized levels, regional partnerships and exchange, publication and programme tools, insight and lesson learned from 2016 and challenges and solutions in 2016. The solution proposed in the report is to invest much more in 2017 on promoting community social norm change innovations and dialogues, and service provision targeting psychosocial support and cancelling
