The Violence survey on the Palestinian society

Abstract
The Violence survey on the Palestinian society, 2011 was planned and implemented by a technical team from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics and national committee of government institutions and non-governmental. Financial support for the Violence survey on the Palestinian society was provided by the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), by the MDG project “Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment “through UNDP/PAPP, UNFPA and UNICEF. The first chapter concerned Objectives and Methodology of the Survey and Sample. The second chapter presented main Results and the third Chapter presented Concepts and Definitions. The survey is aiming at Providing an updated data base about the phenomenon of violence against individuals inside the Palestinian society whether they were women who were previously married or spouses or single individuals (males or females) or children and elderly; Recognizing the form and size of violence that faces youth in Palestinian society; Demographic and economical particularities of individuals exposed to violence, whether this individual is the spouse or a member of the household; Assisting planers and policy makers designing strategies and policies that will contribute to the reduction of violence inside the Palestinian society; Provide feedback to the institutions of civil society in the quality and class of the service offered to the victims of violence; Recognizing other types and forms of violence against women and children by individuals; out of the household; and recognizing other types of violence that is practiced against women and individuals by the occupation forces and setters.
